2 chickens but only one egg

i got my 2 chickens from a friend who had 5, she had 5 eggs a day so we know they both layed for her. i've had them since saturday but only one chicken is laying, how do i get the other one to lay? they only have one nest box would this be why? both chickens combs look similar in colour very red. should i remove the one egg i am getting straight away or leave it to encourage the second hen?

I wouldn't worry, it's just taking one hen a little longer to settle down. She'll start laying soon. My chickens frequently lay their eggs in the same nest box, even though they have a choice of two, so just having one nest box isn't a problem.

I remove all eggs as soon as I find them.
