I purchased these 2 last night to slip under a broody hen. She is very pleased with them so it doesn’t really matter what they are. Momma Hen is happy.
however, I am curious. The man who oversees the chick area at the store said they are Easter Eggers. They were in a mixed bin. But as I was about to leave he mentioned that they had a problem yesterday morning when the chicks arrived. He wasn’t there and chicks didn’t get labeled or sorted correctly. Now, I’m uncertain that these are,in fact, EE.
Possibly Dark Cornish?
what do you think?

Not dark Cornish, probably not EE since they lack a beard but EE's being mixed breeds who knows! :D do they have clean legs? Also do you happen to know what breeds they might have had that day besides EE/Cornish? If not it may just be a waiting game until they get some feathers in :)

The only thing that was labeled...(as he was fumbling around and trying to put labels on things)...was Welsummer. These don't quite look like Welsummer chicks either. I have had an EE without a beard. But last year I grabbed 2 chicks out of a mixed bin thinking they were EE and one was an EE and one was a Dark Cornish. Same type of coloring. But I noticed after bringing these two home, that they have yellowish/pinkish legs. It's always such a fun thing to me to try to guess (and research) what types my chicks are. I am hoping they are girls. LOL But isn't that everyone's hope? I already have 2 roosters (one being the Dark Cornish mentioned above.)
