2 coops for one flock ???

I have 6 hens in one coop. It's full and it won't take any more. I am adding to the flock and have built a smaller coop.Can a flock roost in different coops or would they act as a new flock??
This is probably the most stupid question ever but.....

I would let the chickens themselves tell me whether they are two flocks. If they get along in the common areas that is all that matters.

some nights they would all try squeeze into the one small house but they eventually got the hang of it. When I let them out in the mornings they acted fine but would keep their distance a bit.
