2 day old chick girl or boy??

Don't worry. The hen knows what to do. If you hit that date and they all started incubating at the same time, open them up to determine when they failed. Or just throw them away.

Shud I candle the eggs tomoz night to see if there is movement? Or just leave them until Monday xx

The only reason to candle at this late date would be to see if they candle clear (no development) or very little development. If it is dark inside leave them. I have seen no movement and they hatch. Don't toss for no movement!

So I would just leave them alone and let mama do her thing.

(This is assuming they all started incubating at the same time!!)

The safest thing to do is to put food and water right next to the hen and chicks- then they will hopefully be OK.

That is what I would do.

Amen. Mama Hen knows how to do this WAY better than you do. Leave her alone and she'll do her thing. Already hatched chicks can live without food or water for up to three days, and she may sit there waiting for the other eggs to hatch for that long. Mama Hen can also live without food and water for several days, and often does while she's sitting.

My advice: leave her strictly alone for a minimum of 24 hours.

Good job I took eggs out advice from chicken breeder one exploded a rotten egg in my face and I threw up
