I have a 2-day old bantam pth that took a quick downturn. We gave her nutridrench by mouth (drop at a time) and administered 1ml of saline sub-q. She was great yesterday, and this morning. She seems to be gasping a bit. I'm not sure she was before the oral fluid. Maybe she aspirated some. What can I do? What should I be looking for?

Can she walk and keep her head up?
I’d try listening to her breathing for any crackles or gasping
Too young for something like cocci
I’d check her over thoroughly for any deformity or pasty butt if you haven’t already
Pictures might help

What is the temp in the brooder and what substrate do you use?
How did you administer the saline, you may have gotten some down her trachea

No walking. She's pretty limp. She can hold up her head if I hold her. Her eyes are shut and look dry.

Orally, nutridrench with a syringe, no needle, by do which she seems to be drinking. Saline subq in the leg.

Temp is good. There are cooler and warmer spots for the chicks. She with 2 others, no issues. Substrate is paper towels as they're so young.

Get the poop off her vent. That is pasty butt. Warm soapy water and a tissue will remove it. She cannot poop. Give more electrolytes as often as possible.
I just did that. What would cause that in a chick?

Electrolytes, what works best? Should I stick with oral or inject saline, its sterile.
