Hi guys. I’ve been hatching for some time now but I’ve never seen a leg issue like this. One of my newly hatched chicks will not let down his foot. When he hatched 2 days ago, his leg already appeared to have this problem. His toes will grip your finger but he holds his leg up all the time. It’s not splayed leg. I don’t feel a break or dislocation but I also want to be extra gentle and not cause him more pain- if he is in any. I tried moving his leg up and down when he fell asleep in my hand and he didn’t make a peep. His leg will shake some but it’s hard to say if that’s from trying to balance on his good leg or a nerve issue. Part of me wants to gently move the leg down and brace it but again, I don’t want to cause him pain if he is. Hobbles I don’t think will work in this situation either. I’ve been giving vitamins in his water just Incase. He is eating, drinking and pooping normally. I have a video but it doesn’t give me the option to attach it here. Thank you in advance.
