2 days away from being 9 weeks old...HELP, WHAT ARE THEY???

yikes, still confused then. haha.

it's a wide range of guesses, from pullets to all roos. yikes. hmmm. I think 2 are roos for sure and on the fence with 4 and 2 pullets for sure, the two teeny ones.

EE's are no fun for sexing.

They are difficult.

But don't feel bad, I have a splash orp that I still can't figure out. (6 weeks old) One day I lean towards pullet, the next I lean towards rooster. Today, I think it's a pullet. (I hope it's a pullet, I already have 2 confirmed splash roosters)

Luckily, they are getting to the age that they will start to crow (well start anyway...some like to wait a few months

). If it crows, you'll know for sure!

Or lay an egg....

keep them pullet vibes coming.

I am thinking I should have picked an easier breed. I just wish they'd act rooish or something. make wierd sounds, spar a little. nope they all just get along.
I am hoping I can prove the red comb theory wrong and say I have mutant birds who like color. haha.

they are too pretty for eating.......if roos. oh to be a roo nowadays.

1-4 all cockerels and a "maybe" on the white chick. Number 3 is going to grow up to be a beauty. Looking at the group shot, looks like six cockerels and two pullets. Sorry!

I'm on board with this answer. There are a few that are questionable but at 9 weeks everyone, even pullets should be getting combs and waddles to some extent... they're over 1/2 way to laying age now.
#2, and #4 are the only other ones that looks suspicious to me. Good luck!

I disagree with them getting combs and wattles at nine weeks. I've got 5 11wk-olds pullets that are just BARELY getting any wattles, let alone any progress to their combs. Their brothers, meanwhile, have combs that are bigger than most of my hens, with wattles to boot. (unless I have mutant chickens...) Just my 2 cents.
