We ordered our chickens from McMurray Hatchery back in April. We had 26 Buff Orpington hens and 1 free rare chick which we believe was a Dark Bantum Rooster. All of them have been fine up until this past week. Last week our ladies killed the rooster....they literally pecked him to death. Then this morning I get up and we have a dead hen in the pen. No signs of anything really being wrong with her. She did have ants all around her neck but I could not tell anything was wrong with her there. We are new to the chicken raising. And really just have them for the eggs and for fun. They did get 2 or 3 vaccines from McMurray before they were shipped. Is there anything I should be looking out for or doing???
