2 died.... what did it

I bought 6 chicks last night and this morning 2 were dead.
1 from each breed.
They looked all there(no parts missing,etc)
One had its head in the water, its eye was swollen.
The other one looked smashed. I could see where feathers had been ripped off it.
They were in our unfinished basement, but we dont think anything could of got inside, so we are lost on what happened.

It might not been a predator at all. It might have drowned in the water tub and the other chicks walked over it. So sorry...

im sorry i agree the one probability drown and the other was walk on how big was the waterer sorry for your loss

it was a little chick waterer.
The same one they used at the store I got them from
