My question is about my two sick ducks. 1 is 2 months old, and has had a niacin deficiency. I have been feeding her things that are high in niacin mixed in with her feed to help her and it doesnt seem to be helping. Shes still having trouble walking and lately had just been sitting around without the others. Is she beyond help? When would be the time to cull her? I guess I'm kind of just pushing it off, but if it's more harm to her I would rather her be out of pain and misery. Also, my big duck is about 2 years old now i believe. She had gotten a cut a few months back and i thought it healed up but apparently i made a mistake and it came back as an infection up in to her legs. I have been giving her infection medication every night for a week already, and it doesnt seem to be helping. One of her legs still hasn't healed. It's hot to the touch and she wont use it. She just stands there on the opposite leg and limps alot, falling over every now and then. When would be the time to cull her? I cant tell if shes suffering bc she doesnt quack very much. But I just love my ducks so much. I just hate to see them what I believe is in pain. Someone help :(

for your first duck with the niacin deficiency you need to get some B-complex from Tractor Supply and start her on that. 1 ml each day over something she will eat right up. Give it every day and you'll see improvement in about a week or sooner.

Sounds like a @casportpony question for the second one. It seems like its an infection now that has spread. She can probably recommend some antibiotics or even better, a trip to the vet.

Thank you! I will have to check my local tractor supply for that tomorrow!

Is a vet an option for duck 2? What infection medication are you giving her?
I am going to call some place that takes in sick poultry today. My sister gave me their number. I would love for someone to be able to save her and give her a good life. I have been giving her bacterial infection medicine for birds. Whether it's working internally or not I'm not sure, but her leg is definitely dead, she drags it when I let her out of the coop to eat and drink. :( I'm trying.
