I'm so frustrated right now. My flock has just barely started laying and my two EEs apparently lay a pale brown egg!!! ARRRRGGG

. I knew one might have been mixed with RIR...but now I think they both are (even though I was told the other wasn't)

Good thing I have a few more EEs and two actual Ameraucanas to hopefully give me the pretty eggs <3 I'm guessing it's not the infamous "pink" egg people have talked about....it's not very pink to me at least

. More like a very pale brown egg (still quite a pretty color though) .... Sorry...just had to vent my frustration

On the plus side, you DO get eggs...lol. But yeah, it can be disappointing, so good thing you have some back-up hitters in your ameraucanas! Maybe their eggs will doubly beautiful to make up for your disappointment!

I "had 2 of them" I sold them as brown egg layers:-( They were keepers until they laid light brown eggs..I was not attached to them as they were very skittish and flighty ding bats...

Hah! Welcome to the "Brown Egg from an Easter Egger" club.

My ONE Easter Egger lays a light brown egg. . . And my real Ameraucanas and Araucanas aren't old enough to even understand the concept of an egg yet. . .

About 20 years ago I had a flock of 25 EE's. They laid every shade of brown, green and pinky-brown you could imagine, no two of them alike. Not one blue egg though.

*only about 3 of them were green, from light to olive to dark green.

I keep asking people which hatchery they got their EE's from. Where did you all get yours from. My local feed store gets his from Mt. Healthy and all I got have lain greenish or bluish eggs. Where are you getting the brown ones from? Gloria Jean

Sorry, that your girls aren't laying green or blue eggs. I purchased my girls from Kim_NC and both of my EE girls lay beautiful blue/green eggs. One has brown specks and it is a beauty...

Has anyone gotten EEs from MyPetChicken.com? I have 3 two week old chicks and reading this I am now wondering if I will get any blue or green eggs.

Also - I have read on some sitest that Ameraucanas and EEs are the same thing and other sites say they aren't - I'm confused by that and new to this. Can someone help explain which is right?
