hi i have a 9 month old royal palm, she has been laying for about a month now and went broody on a clutch of chicken eggs. i let her cuz i wanted to see what would come of it, enyway i go up every day and take her turkey egg cuz i dont want that to hatch. i gett a egg a day but sometimes i get 2 one larger than the other and darker. is it possible that she is sometimes laying 2 eggs a day? or could it be that unknowingly when she gets up to eat and what not another turkey is laying in her nest.

ive also heard that each year the turkey eggs gain in size but decreas in laying rate is this true? and how big do they get?
eny advice or feed back would be GRETLY appresiated
THANKS!!!

It is possible in chickens. Not common, but it does happen once in a while. It's far more common to get a double yolk egg than 2 separate eggs. But, 2 eggs can happen, sometimes normal, but often one egg is smaller and often yolkless. Many weird things happen. A few weeks/couple of months ago on the egglaying forum, someone posted about having an egg within a larger egg, with photos IIRC.

So, you say they can't do that!! Well that is very strange. I'm a touch confused.
The hen that laid 2 (she did it for about 3 days) is an older hen and her eggs are totally different than my other 2 hens.
Interesting!! I will be watching her more closely. Well I have another observation, that maybe is crazy too. This same older hen has 11 poults that are 4 weeks old and she is laying eggs again and sitting on them. Is this normal?? Or do I have some really messed up (but awesome mother) hens??
