My incubator is in my room and I woke up to a hatched chick that was peeing loudly and moving around in the incubator. It is like freaking out.. Is something wrong.. it is still wet.. it is about 97.0 degrees in there.. Also one of them has a little red bump on its butt.. what is that?

It may be cold since he should be at 100 degrees until he's dry, but otherwise many chicks do that. I also keep my incubator in my room and have been awoken may times by newly hatched chicks. It's all new to them. But do try to get the tempature up just a bit. I'm not sure what to think about them red bump, could you describe it in more detail?

I had one that was CRAZY (a rooster). He kept jumping straight up and bumping the heating element. I wouldn't worry about loud. The temp should be around 99 though right? Is the bump where it absorbed the yoke sack?

I hatched my very first chick this morning, and it has a red nub the size of my little finger protruding from its belly button area. I read about Omphalitis and have been dabbing iodine on it. Will it go away on its own?
I really hope so as I have fallen madly in love with this little chick.
