2 embryo in 1 egg? Please look at picture

They are removing the PICC line from my arm today and reinserting it into my chest. I'm so upset about this because I have been in pain since they put it in on Monday. My nerves are shot today

So glad they are finally getting it out! PICCs shouldn't keep hurting once they are in place and secured.

Hope the new one is much more comfortable (once it's in. ) :hugs

I hope so because holy smokes I have been in pain since Monday and my arm is black and blue, the have to put me under light anesthesia to do the next one so hopefully when I wake up I will be pain free.. the chemo is BRUTAL! And this isn't helping...

Oh Lucy, I'm so sorry to hear that you are going through more.

Are they putting in just a catheter or did they call it a central line or a C-Line? I do hope it is more comfortable for you. Did the one in your hand infiltrate or was it just irritating your hand? Any possibility that you have a latex allergy?

Sending love and prayers your way. Keep us all informed.

It's a c-line I am done with the procedure and home, still a little groggy and numb but all and all I feel ok. The one in my are had a kink under the skin, kind of like a air bubble formed in the vein which is what was causing the discomfort. I was so scared because they had to do an ultrasound on the knot to make sure it wasn't a blood clot. I just knew that it was going to break lose and kill me :(
Hopefully I will handle it better being in my chest ... Time will tell...

I've taken care of a lot of C-lines. I can't remember a patient telling me that they were uncomfortable.

A kink in the catheter under the skin?! OUCH! I think a nurse needs a refresher course on IV catheter insertion! At least checking them to make sure they are patent once they are inserted.

Rest. Put ice on your hand where the catheter was. Rest some more. Tomorrow will be better. Try to get out and visit with your ducks for a bit. They will make you feel better.
