I have just spent 3 days reading the Chronicles and have experienced every emotion humanly possible. From elation over new duckies to complete sorrow over losses. I am relatively new to ducks (almost a year since I got my Ancona ducks). I have learned so much at a perfect time. My hen, Sable, started laying last week. We have 3 egg in my friends incubator and we have 3 more she has layed this week to see if she will set them.

@lucysducks11 your story is so inspiring. I know many who would have given up when getting the diagnosis of cancer. My prayer is that if I ever have to face such a diagnosis that I can face it with just an ounce of the grace and stubbornness you have allowed us to be witness to. Adding my prayers to those of many others on here that you have touched.

Goodbye Golden locks ( ok maybe not locks since I whacked it all off and the "locks" are fake hair" when I wake up and see more hair on my pillow idk whether to cry or be thankful I had a hard sleep, enough to lose hair on my pillow

but either way I can find something to be thankful for here, crying is good and so is sleep. When this happens I bury my hair, yes, I do that. It's symbolic and probably silly but it's how I deal with it. Well, Hubby said today " baby you gotta stop burying your hair in the yard" so I said, "why?"
His response (this is classic)
Because when we move and they develop the property ( yes we are moving in 4 years) they are going to find all this hair and before you know it we will end up on Nancy Grace as serial killers and we will get some awful label like the "tomahawk bandit's" and CSI will be looking for bones and stuff...

The last part really made me laugh, though it is a bummer that you lost your hair you are beautiful with or without it.

your hair is not what makes you beautiful, it is in your heart and soul, your attitude, your love of life, your courage and your stubbornness. Most of all it is who you are that attracted us all here and given us the duck chronicles
