:cd :yiipchick :weee I had some Quackless Ducks many moons ago and they HISSED!!! Sounded like a snake coming up behind you!! They are so cute though, sort of small like the Calls, but they started out yellow and then turned black with some mottling of white Can't remember what the name of that breed of duck was called........hmmmmmmm....Oh yes......the MUSCOVY DUCKS!!. I had a whole slew of these and they just kept reproducing with never any problems. But any whoo.....all of them hissing at the same type was a bit creepy........I prefer the actual loud quacking to those hissers anytime.!! Found this photo of a Muscovy named Donals! Kat
You're hilarious.

Well unfortunately another duck fell victim to my neighbor's cat ( yes I said neighbor's cat) and I was only able to catch 1 Mallard as the other 3 ran for safety to the water. Ravyn seemed to be the only one sick of living outside and had no problem with me picking her up and bringing her inside. As you can very well see she's quite content resting on my hand. I'm going to let my husband catch the rest because my body unfortunately won't allow me to chase them , hopefully he will have more luck than me :(

Please don't beat yourself up over losses. All animal owners will experience, at one point, a loss that they might have prevented or helped. (I know I have.) It's a part of owning animals, and I view the life you give them as what truly matters.

Lucy I'm so sorry. I hope you make your neighbor aware of their cat's destructive behavior. Cats will be cats but the shouldn't be loose to prey on waterfowl.

I feel 100℅ responsible for thier untimely deaths, I should have kept them inside longer, but I was so tired and they really did give me fits :( I'm not beating myself up, but it's not like me at all to just give up on my ducks like I did with these, If I weren't going through chemo, taking care of the calls, my children my husband my brother who has moved in with me on top of spending 6 hours a day in my car taking my kids back and forth to school I know it would have been able to deal with the little rebel ducks, but unfortunately circumstances and cancer got in the way

I called the neighbors and asked them to please keep their cat put up which I'm sure will be impossible since they don't seem to care either way ( this cat has been a problem in the past)
Lesson learned I suppose, I won't bite off more than I can chew in the future..And maybe 4 will be easier than 6... We shall see... I'm going to try to catch the remaining 3 before I leave to get my kids if I fail then I will have to suck it up, admit defeat and let my husband round them up.. Fingers crossed my body will behave and neausea won't kick in during my high speed chase
