Yeah, PICC lines are a necessary evil, unfortunately. But just think, the fact that you were able go to get one means your lab work is within normal limits and as long as the PICC stays open, no more sticks every time you turn around. This is a good thing. It should settle down for you after a couple of days. Just keep telling yourself over the next 6 weeks that the docs are making sure that this nasty cancer is pummeled into oblivion for good so you can get on with your life!
You are doing great!
Always here for you, my dear... PICC lines suck though, I'm sorry...![]()
That's so they can distract you from the multitude of more painful things they can think to do to you.
Seriously! I remember going to a doctor once for an annual exam, and you girls all know how much fun THAT is. Anyway, when I went in, my blood pressure was up. The doctor scolded me and asked me what was going on. I was a nurse, worked with the doctor and knew what was going to happen during the exam.
I stopped him there and said, THAT is why my blood pressure was up. I KNEW what he was going to do to me and no matter how it was delivered, it was going to be unpleasant.
Such is medical treatment. It always feels really good. When it stops hurting.
