1 rooster, about 1 year old about 2 weeks ago develops a slight limp, had some improvement for a couple days, now limping again.
We've checked him thoroughly, it's not bumblefoot, his foot pad is blemish-free, not swollen or tender ordiscolored.
What I have noticed is his middle toe looks slightly enlarged where his toeknuckle would be.
He is holding it up when not standing on it. We feel bad for him, he's a big guy and there is some weight there, you can tell he's in pain. Also, it's not scaly leg mites either, his legs look great.
1 chick, born July 3rd. It is the runt but growing. I'm pretty sure it has footpadf dermatitus and I'm treating for that. How long does it take to see improvement?
We noticed the symptoms of it a week and a half ago. I can't get betadine but I have tried iodine and athletes foot cream. We've changed it's pen area to pine shavings and clean it daily, at least. We added vitamins to it's water. It's eating and drinking like a champ and growing although behind it's 2 siblings. I have even been putting neosporin on the bottom of the feetcuz they look sore.
The skin is discolored in bumpy areas with some raw looking spots. Then a day later, it's peeling, revealing a little more raw looking spots. The one foot looks like it's getting better but it's off and on with the other one.
No pasty butt issues, no limping, eats great, drinks great, looks healthy but small.
Anything more I can do for these little guys???
