Lucking Runners

Hi All,
So being first time owners of runner ducks, we acquired some eggs, 2 hatched, one mallard one drake, we think!
Then we hatched 3 more from a different flock. The older ducks were released into the pond about 4 weeks before the ducklings, so have settled and are now very territorial. We keep introducing the ducklings which are 10 weeks old now but generally the older ones peck at them or try to drown them in the pond. The ducklings are now big enough to not get drowned but none the less it cannot be fun, the aim was to release them all together in to the pond and rather foolishly I thought they would all get on harmoniously.... Is there any advice out there, is this normal?? Is there anything I can do to help the poor little ones, without having to dig an extra pond!!!
