Golden Comet stopped laying about 3 weeks ago. She doesn't appear egg bound/no penguin stance or change in behavior. She still eats and comes running for treats. They eat the persimmons tree leaves, but they did that last year and laid non-stop. Nothing has changed with diet except I switched to an a different brand of organic pellet feed. I also noticed this week the Easter Egger only laid once in the last 5 days.

These hens aren't even 2 years old yet. I only have 5 and they free range during most of the entire day. I haven't seen any lice/mites. I've put apple cider vinegar back into their water supply. The other 3 so far, are still laying as normal. They've always been good about laying in the nesting boxes and the yard isn't that difficult to try to find any hidden eggs laid out there... especially if there were approximately 15 out there like there should be from the GC.

I've read the other threads posted here prior to this and nothing really helped. So at this point I'm really just venting and trying to figure it out. They appear happy and health and that is the main thing - but it's normal health for them to lay regularly and it's not happening. Any new help/advice out there?

Thanks all! Both help and could be the causes. I also thought maybe she was molting because I saw tufts of white coming thru and she really didn't molt during her first fall last fall... but when I started petting her all over, also checking for the egg bound thing, not a single white tuft or feather came out. I'm constantly reminded: they rule the roost (backyard) and I'm just here to keep them entertained and fed well.

Even though you are positive there is no possibility of a hidden nest, go down some day when you have time, take coffee and a book and just wait. When I have an unexplained production drop, it is always a hidden nest. This year it was IN my coop, in a back corner, under a platform that I had blocked off so they would n't lay there, but a 3 in gap was all it needed for two of them.

Sooooo true! I found a few over the years: in a potted plant, in the dust bath, UNDER a nest box, in the bag of pine shavings, in a corner the run...
