2 hens 2 chicks - at what age can they live together?

South Island, New Zealand.
I have 2 black sex links with 1 chick each. The chicks hatched 4 days apart. I currently have them separated (see photo) but I would like to release them into the chicken run (summer here in New Zealand) which is quite large for my 4 chickens and 2 chicks.

All 4 chickens normally range free in the garden as the run is for when we go away from the property. Currently the other hen/pullet and the rooster/cockerel are still free ranging but occasionally stop by to check out the chicks.

What I don't know is whether the hens will tolerate each other and not try to kill the others chick.

Any advice would be appreciated.

How long have you had them seeing the chicks but not touching?

Usually if they see the chicks for 2+ weeks but not touch them, It's safe to say that they can be let out.

I usually do the see but not touch method for 2+ weeks with my chicks and I've never had my older chickens pick on chicks.

Just make sure you have plenty of hiding places for the chicks to go in case one of the chickens decides they want to pick on them.
