I had one hen dead yesterday in the coop and one today. Both had a large gash in her back where the roos put their claws. I seperated on roo yesterday; thinking he was the bad guy. But today another hen is gone. I now that it is a roo or other hens. So is the only thing I can do is seperate until I fiond the offending roo? I only have a travel pen to but the offender in. Could it be a hen? I think not. These were both 6-7 month old hens...not even one of my 3-4 month olds. I have left them in the coop for two days at a time and nothing, the last two days...Just in case anyone is wondering all are active and free range from about 8-9am until they go up at night...this happens sometime between sunrise and my letting them out. Yes I can set my alarm and get up and let them out with the sun...if this is my only option. But I figure the sges on here would have more than that one answer....thanks for the help and advice...
