I have two chickens that have developed some type of lump on the bottom and or the top of their feet.
I went away for a few days when I got back the person that was taking care of them told me that they had noticed that one was limping and upon closer inspection realized there was a lump, maybe a cyst or a boil on the bottom of her foot and then the next day I noticed a lump on top of her foot as well.
I called the local odd pet vet in our town but they tell me he is away for the next couple of weeks.
I went out to check on her this morning and I noticed another hen with lump on her foot as well.
They have no other visible symptoms of being sick. I have checked them over for mites and everything else.
I checked the coop to make sure the roost did not have any type of splinters that could have caused a puncture and found nothing.
They free range all day around the yard, the other chickens are all fine.
Does anyone have any idea what this could be and what I can do for them?
I do not want to see them in pain or suffering but I have no idea what these are or what to do to care for them.
Thank you in advance for any advice or help you can give.

Thats what it is! Thank you. Mine do not have that scab yet and that is why I was confused. It may just be that the opening where the infection set in is just still small and if left may have gotten bigger and I would have noticed it then.
I had the instinct to soak their feet in epsom salts when I first saw their feet, don't know why but it just seemed like a good idea so I am on the right track.
I am now searching bumblefoot in the forum.
Thanks again.

As I mentioned in this thread I determined that it is bumblefoot, read some more threads on it, watched a video and followed the procedure to treat it.
I have them bandaged now and seperated from the rest of the flock to heal.
Thanks for the help given.

Thank you, I was apprehensive to try the procedure because I wasn't sure I could do it right, I was nervous and kind of grossed out but I knew it had to be done so I charged ahead.
It went very well from what I can tell.
One was a little harder to get at so I am hoping I got it all.
They are now recuperating in the penthouse suite and enjoying room service.
