A note about nesting boxes: my chickens always kick bedding out so I cut up some thick rubber mats to put in there. They are kind of like the ones you find in professional kitchens but mine have small, square holes. They work better for me than bedding. If they do break an egg I can just rinse it off. They sell nesting pads online but I like to say that chicken keeping is as expensive as you make it-if you can find something you have on hand that works its usually preferable. Your chickens might be better behaved than mine though haha
