2. i sold the mixed up mutts several years ago. i wanted APA standards & better quality.

3. i built several pens (took me about a year doing it by myself) and purchased the breeds/colors i wanted. all breed/colors are housed separate (no cross breeding).

4. if you don't keep your birds separate and they breed, the eggs that hatch are MUTTS! they are not such and such, they are mutts.

I am so tired of the ladies are work telling me about their breeds of chickens.

I don't understand why they go out and buy a nice bird just to pitch it in a common house/common pen? They both only have one house with yard. Then let it breed with everything else they have and try to tell me they hatched out a certain breed. AUGH! The bird you purchased was from a certain breed, yes! Is that the breed of it's offspring? NO, if you don't keep them housed separate. Sorry, those two nice ladies just drive me nuts when the say look what I hatched out and everyone at work whom doesn't know anything about chickens says "wow".

hmmm, it's fun trying to decide what breed a mutt LOOKS like, but lying about breeds is kinda stupid

just give them a weird look, shake your head and walk away the next time they tell you about thier "breeds"
