In the 2009 Warrren County Fair, I showed a duck. I have never had ducks before. My pekin laid her first egg at fair and I was excited ,but had no where to put it so I left it. I come to check on my ducks and her first egg was gone! Same thing the next day. They found the guy who did it...I think, but never got the eggs back. I lost 3 eggs, the first 3 eggs.

Sorry for your loss, but my mind isn't right. I was picturing a guy in prison. " What are you in for?" "Stealing duck eggs!"

That's pathetic, but when ever I go to the shows, I always get to talking to the ppl. and most will have a buddy who is there when the other isn't because of stealing....I mean come on now. why steal an egg or anything else for that matter.

Uuuum, I thought you were supposed to take them. I can hear the guy saying it.

Yea, there aren't many places left where you don't have to watch your stuff, no matter what it is. I'm only surprised he didn't take your duck lol.

Are you sure no one for the show was collecting them? Sometimes at fairs since they last a week, someone will collect eggs and give them to food pantry's or to someone for eating ... not hatching.

We always collect all the eggs at the SD State Fair. If we don't, the hens will usually break them and begin to eat eggs. The eggs are free to anyone who wants them.

Okay,

1. It is a Rule in lots of fairs/shows Not to TOUCH Birds or eggs. I personly think it is annoying when people steal Ameraucana eggs cause their pretty

2. I once Saw a 5 yr old open my silkies cage, and steal the egg in it. Then He threw it at me! It exploded all over me...

3. talk to Fattie. She had a splash Silkie hen Stolen out of it's cage. I now keep locks for ameraucanas
