Jingle and Jangle are barnyard mix chicks hatched 11/30/25. Their dad is MJ who is half Bielefelder and mom is Siggy, a Blue Rock (aka Sapphire Gem).

What gender do you think they are? I’m leaning toward pullets. They are pretty similar in appearance so I’m thinking they’re the same gender. Jingle (red leg band) has white legs and slightly darker hackles. Jingle is outgoing and has slightly larger comb. Jangle (green leg band) has yellow legs and more prominent barring. Jangle is more reserved and pullet-like in personality.

Both birds (it was a windy day):

@SJsChickies

Honestly, still not sure, but still leaning towards pullets.

In this clutch I have 2 remaining obvious cockerels, 3 pullets, and then there’s these 2… 🤷‍♀️

This pic is from about a week ago.
I hope it’s a pullet! At 3 months I would think much more red and big wattles? But the others that commented are wayyyy more experienced than me. No attempts at crowing yet?

I tried to get some more pics but it’s dark and they don’t want to cooperate of course. I’ll try and get better ones tomorrow.

These 2 pics show Jingle, the larger combed of the two. He is standing in front of a cockerel and a pullet who have same dad but different mom. You can see how much redder he is than the pullet but not nearly as red as the cockerel…

And here is Jangle’s comb. She has the slightly smaller comb of the 2.

Whatever they are, I think they’re both the same. L
