We have been raising two bantum chicks in a 2ftx3ft cardboard box in the garage. They are making such a mess with their food and water that we have to change the papers every other day to keep things from growing in it. How do you deal with chicks this size? Should we make a separate screened area in our run/coop for them and move them outside? Or, should we keep them in a box but somehow make the feed less able to be tossed around? (We make our own feeders.) This cardboard box method has become a messy problem and may be unhealthful for the chicks. Please Help!
