2 more ducklings and a question.

They're not home yet, but I'll be picking them up Monday. My Crested Pekin, Maxine, is my only duckling. Well, she's 14 weeks, actually... and far from duckling. However, I'm thinking the poor girl is lonely. I finally found some ducklings today that weren't Muscovy or Mallard.

I have a Muscovy male (Theodore) on the other side of the property in his own lot with his "wife" and I won't even try adding Maxine in with him as he's so dominant and even nippy with me. Maxine, on the other hand, is a total sweetheart who loves even the chickens...

My question is should I just stick with Pekin? He has 2 & 4 week old Pekin, Runner, Cayuga and something else, I think Rouen?

I'd really love to get a Runner, as I had 2 when I was younger and they were hysterical to watch. However, I'm just curious if mixing them would matter?

Runners are nice ducks. You could get a runner and a pekin. I dont think mixing them would matter.

Runners a way more high strung than Pekins in my opinion. I have pekin male with Whiye Goldens and Rouens, and he is still the follower not the leader, although he is the youngin.

Might make a differnece on th elevel of interaction between them. I would dticl with a mellower breed, as in the Pekins or Rouens.

I've got 1 pekin, 3 rouen and 1 runner. They all get along fine. The runner turned out to be a very good setting duck. She's hatched 2 of the rouens eggs, though none of her own, yet.
