We butchered 2 more of our white broad breasted turkeys that we got in July ( 13-- what was I thinking!!!) today.
The hen dressed out at 25.6 pounds, the tom was 27.2. We've still got 4 hens, and a very big tom ( the one we did 2 weeks ago dressed out at 32.2 pounds, the one that's left is bigger!!)
I've got the smaller of the 2 brining in my big canning pot, and the other is "resting" out on the sunporch ( it's 35 degrees out there) before I rewrap and freeze it. I may cut it in half before freezing this one- haven't decided yet.
Can't wait to roast one tomorrow. We just finished the one we roasted last week! Yum!
