Hi I am new to the whole chickens scene I got a barred rock rooster due to a friend needing a new home for it so as a carpenter I built a coop.. I yesterday got 2 more chickens witch I was told were hens can anyone verify this... the gender or the breed thank you. they are the small ones in the picture

awsome thank you, how are the brown leghorns? Friendly ?
Normally Leghorns tend to be more flighty, but they can be tamed down. They are good layers for the first few years, then production drops. They lay white eggs, and do better in confinement. (meaning they arent pacing the fence trying to get out).

Brown Leghorn hens, and possibly a Cuckoo Marans rooster. :)

I absolutely love my Leghorns. So many breed descriptions claim they're incredibly flighty birds, but thus far, this isn't my experience at all. Cuddly, maybe not, but certainly not unfriendly.
