Been getting ready for winter. Put in a huge window for our chickens so they can see better in the coop. Getting everything in the backyard cleaned up, and will be putting plastic around the chicken's run soon hopefully. Snow storm moving in this week, might get up to 12 inches!

But we love ice-fishing so that's something to look forward to this winter!!

 please keep the storm

Thank you :) We always decorate the weekend after Thanksgiving and usually, nothing Christmas is allowed till then. This year, I've been in the Christmas mood a couple weeks and have been listening to Christmas music but the decorations still didn't come out till this weekend :)

It really does looks like Christmas outside, so it is easy to get into the swing of it!
We have to do a bit of fall decor clean-up before decorating for Christmas...the pumpkins & squashes that are sitting on the porch had frozen and now they are slowly deflating:sick...they are quite juicy now..:sick double nasty I know...hahaha
Looking forward to getting all the tubs out of the attic and hanging lights..etc..:love
Hoping the weather will give "some" time to accomplish without frostbit fingers or drenched clothes:fl

thanks lmp but might be a old puppy, not sure yet, i'm thinking i do want another dog but not sure yet if the heart has healed enough:confused: it won't be really warm but compared to here it'll be a heat wave:lol:

:hugsIt has helped me to have 3 other "babies" to love-on even though the loss is still very heavy.
we know the weather is only going to get 'better' here ;), enjoy the improved (warmer)weather!

As much as we love fishing, we have never tried ice fishing..would love to some time!
I do love winter, even though it argues with the old-body more now.
We aren't expected to get too much, but then again..'they' have been wrong before:rant..
Your girls look very pleased with their new view!! Maybe the extra light will add to the egg cartons, one can only wish:fl
We had gotten the most major yard chores finished up earlier, but didn't get to re-mulch beds.
Will just add that to the ever growing Spring 'to do' list.
Once the weather stays steadily cold, we have to trim back the fruit trees and dog wood.
The fruits need more than just a trim this year. The "dwarf" trees look more like standard fruits because "someone" doesn't like to cut back anything...HE has finally come around to listening to logical thinking ...;)

I never heard any strong winds, and I didn’t feel any when out at 11 last night or seven this morning. But the plastic around the back door area, and one t-post were blown down.

It’s actually worse now.

Good grief! I hope nothing was permanently damaged...doesn't look good though...
says "captain obvious"...sorry:hmm

Well, today is a crazy bird day. Aretha just made a beeline for the coop. Baby Face is missing. She looked all around in there, called for him (mama Muscovy do have a noise), and walked back to her nest by the back door. :barnie I should have put the plastic back up yesterday!
I don’t see anything as far as prints though other than hers and mine.
I found one egg in the nest box. The pullets are still under a year, but aside from an occasional duck or Cindy egg, I’ve not been getting much since before the other pullet was taken that day.
Cindy was hiding. I thought she was dead. Then she yelled at me, so I thought she decided to brood. Nope. She feels light, but her crop has food. She’s able to stand because Maaco scared her bad enough to jump out of the box she’s in. So, whuzzup with hiding?
