Here's a pic of one of our Silver Sebright cockerals (7 or 8 wks old in pic)...

Hmmm .... well ... maybe I have a seabright and it's just not well marked? Yours have nice (don't know what you call that, lacing?) Mine is kind of like that, but not so nice.
The tail especially is mostly white, with a black blob. I think he's not colored well? Actually, I think MAYBE it's a she ... that would be better since I know 3 of the banties are roos. It was the MM "rare chick" so I am not really sure, but the pics on the site most closely resembled a seabright, and yours looks very similar. Just prettier.
Thanks so much for the pics. They are both so beautiful!
We got ours from MM too. Our "rare chick" turned out to be a Silver Spangled Hamburg cockeral. I thought he was a Sebright for awhile but noticed his markings just weren't quite right.
Check out this post:What am I? It has comparison pix of our Silver Sebrights and the SSH.
Hmmmm .... you may be right. I looked at feathersite too.
Some of those look so different from mine, but I found a couple that look almost just like her/it. Especially that white wide/vertical tail with black splotches on it.
Maybe it's not a seabright after all. My dd will be disappointed in that case. I'd just be glad to know WHAT it is. I don't know if seabrights are largish bantams, but this one is bigger than any of my other banties. Smaller than most of the standards, but not by much.
I'll have to do some more checking. Thanks SO much for the info, and you didn't even have a pic to go on!
Our SSH is much bigger than everyone else also. They are a light breed as opposed to being a Bantam or Standard. Our Sebrights are very dainty looking compared to him.
The SSH was gonna become freezer fodder but I love his laid back personality so he's a keeper now and we are looking into getting him some ladies next year! I've got it bad, don't I???
Here's a comparison pic at 9 weeks old, he dwarves the Mottled Cochin next to him...
