Hello! So we have 4 roosters, and not enough hens. So as much as it kills me, we're going to have to get rid of 2. They're both good roosters, one is a black Silkie, and is about 24 weeks old, and the other is about a year and a half, and is a Silver Duckwing OEGB. (Both are bantams).
Einstein (the silkie roo) has a fairly good temperament, he has gotten slightly more aggressive lately but we believe that's because of the other 3 roosters and him fighting over hens. He's good with people, he's not aggressive. He can get cautious around people though. He's given me a few warning pecks when I first would reach down to pick him up, but it's never hard. He has been given several warm baths, and he doesn't seem to hate them.
Charlie (the OEGB roo) is the eldest of our roosters, he's very pretty and we have considered using him for show, until he got some of his comb ripped off by another previous rooster. He can be aggressive with people, but he calms down when he's away from his hens (show off). He make's sure everyone's in the coop at dark, and is sure to let us know when somebody jumps out of the run.
We live in Adams County, IL. So we hope we can find somebody in that general area, but we won't mind going on a tiny road trip to maybe meet somebody halfway.
I hope somebody can take them!!
