2 SICK CHICKEN

Hi

Does anyone know how to treat a sick chicken? its only young its the two chickens on this thread picture number 3. someone told me to treat them with equimax syringe which is a syringe used on horses but known to kill all illness in animals?

am not quite sure what is exactly wrong but as i can see and describe on here, they keep standing in one place and keep stretching their neck up, and when i picked them up i can here them breathing like as if there is flame stuck in their throat? and the cockerel has one of his eyes closed when eating or standing and walking, but then sometimes he has it opened so he isnt going blind because he does open them at some point.

Equimax is an equine wormer. It contains ivermectin and praziquantel. It would be very effective in treating a tapeworm infection, but not so much with other types of worms that chickens can get. I suggest that you take fecal samples to a vet and have them looked at under microscope for worm oocysts,,,particularly capillary worms and gapeworm. Flubenvet will treat either IF in fact it's worms. You might have a fungal or respiratory issue going on by your description, a vet will be able to tell you.

recently i was recommended to use Equimax on my chickens as they are sick and have been said they have worms of some sort, Tape Worms, Worms ect

i just wanted to kniow how you use this product how much to give to the chickens?

do you mix it with their food?

or do you give it them directly in their mouth?

It's a paste. Give each bird a "pea" size amount of the paste orally. Repeat again in 10 days. It might be best to put it on a small piece of bread and give each chicken a piece of the treated bread to eat.
