So hubby started building our 3 wyandotte chicks a coop.. We wanted this coop to be moveable so its made with steel frame and plywood. Its 8x4 run and 4x4 coop. This is it so far we have just oiled the outside to waterproof it.. Ill add more pucs and details as the build progresses[IMG][IMG]

The hinged door is going to have a big window cut into it for more ventilation but will be able to be closed up in bad/cold weather the roof will have a sheet of metal over the plywood with an over hang which will mean the ventilation panels will be able to stay open perminately.. Inside we have constructed a poop board that will be lined with newspaper for easy daily removal and then a roost above it.. Under the poop board we will hand the feeder the shelf is about 1 foot wide so were going to set up a next box under the shelf too when the time comes

It looks light weight. Will it be mobile?

This looks like an interesting build, don't see many folk use metal framing.
    Can't wait to see wheels.
Not sure I get the '2 story' part tho....maybe 'raised coop' is a better description?

    How thick is plywood?
How far away from the wall is that roost?
    What is your climate?
Putting your location in your profile can help folks give better answers/suggestions.

We are in sunny Queensland Australia so our summers are hot so we designed this coop to be cool in summer.. The plywood is 9mls thick the roost is 1 foot from wall ill get some better pics it actually looks alot closer in the pics then it is.. I called it 2 story because the space under will be partially enclosed also.. Metal framing is to make it light weight for movinv building a coop out of wood of this size would of been too heavy..

The overhangs will be roughly 100mls and 300mls..

Not much ventilation for a hot climate.

1 of 2 windows complete just need to add a latch to hold the plexiglass out like an awning in hot weather
