I have 6 chicks, all about 1 month old today. 5 are roughly the same size, and at the same stage of feather development and one is a little behind, it might be a couple of days younger, but not much more than that.
The little one and one of the bigger ones are straight run barred rocks. I picked them out of the tub at tractor supply company, both of them had black 'wash' on their legs but the bigger one more than the smaller one. The bigger one had a larger, uneven head spot with fuzzy outlines, the small one had/has a distinct head spot with even edges.
The big one has thinner white barring, and well, just less of it. The smaller one's comb is a little bigger than the bigger one's. I _think_ the big one is a girl and the small one a boy, what say you?

I think the big one is a pullet, smaller legs and hardly any pink in the comb. The little one to me looks like a cockerel, hardly any tail feathers, lighter in color and has a whopping comb for a bird that size!

Seems like you all agree, cool! Thanks for your input!
I think this first little flock thing will work out very nicely, I'm very happy about my ONE BR rooster, I think they're so handsome

He'll have 5 ladies to dote since Big is most likely a girl and our other four are golden comets girls.
