Need opinions about my suspected roosters. One is a Buff orpington whos comb is already starting to get color at about 3 weeks i am guessing. The other is a blue polish who from what i have researched says he is a boy based on his little pouf. Any ideas or too soon to say?

Your buff is likely a rooster if it's already growing a decent comb. I can't see the Polish clearly enough to tell.

Attitude/dominance can help you decide as well. I've had some pretty dominant hens that grew big combs when they were young, but not at 3 weeks.

Hen's feathers grow faster than rooster's. The Buff Orpington does look like a rooster. I can't really tell on the Polish. Always the best way to tell is if one starts crowing. :)
The feather rate is different only if a fast-feathering chicken is bred to a slow-feathering chicken. Otherwise, the growth rate of a chicken's feathers doesn't matter at all.

I'm no expert, but I would wait a little longer. Our rooster was thought to be a hen until very far into his life, about right before the girls started laying. But, I could be wrong.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I am guilty of playing this game every time i get a new batch of chicks. The buffs are supposed to be pullets but 3 weeks seemed a bit early to me for such a large comb which is already getting some pink to it. Honestly wouldnt mind a buff roo though i just love them! The polish was st run and i dont care what it turns out to be because i didnt get it for its egg laying abilities. I also got 3 welsummers that were st run if anyone has any tricks to sex those. They are younger than the orpington chicks so seems it would be hard to tell. If anyone has any tricks i can take some pictures and post those as well. Thanks again everyone!
