Just hatched three little buggers. The two biggest are running around and being very chicken-like, but the smallest has been more and more tired lately. I mean, she's always been less rambunctious, but she falls asleep where she stands pretty much everywhere now. I see her eat and drink, I make sure she does. Found out today she had some bad pasty butt (they'd been clear for awhile so i stopped checking) and cleaned it up. Should that help fix the problem, hopefully? I've yet to see an improvement, but then it's only been a couple hours tops...

And the antibiotic powder you put in their water- I didn't give it to them every time I switched out their water. Does this have something to do with it, going on and off antibiotics?

Hoping for any kind of post, feeling all nervous for this little guy

What kind of antibiotics do you have them on and what for? I would put a splash of Apple cider vinagar in their water. It will clear up the pasty butt, and help there little bodies absorb all there vitamins.

what i could find at the feed store- durvet duramycin-10?

i'll swing by publix tomorrow then, i keep hearing about how wonderful that stuff is

When they're really young like that, some people will put electrolytes and vitamin's in their water..durvet duramycin-10 is used for respritory illness's....

alrighty.

she's also got some heavy breathing going on, she pretty much always has, forgot to mention.

btw thank you so much for posting

Another thing you can do, get some generic poly~vi~sol infant drops WITHOUT iron (very Important) that will help give the chicks a boost too. I would put a full dropper full in their water. That with the ACV will help them sooo much! Good Luck!

I just hope the meds are making her breath hard... I wouldn't give them anymore antibiotics.. They've not been outside where they could be exposed so I wouldn't stress over the respiratory illness. I think it'll do ok. Just baby it, and give it a few days. Let me know if you have anymore questions..

Hasn't gotten up in awhile, just let her gobble down a little sugar water, really hope it'll give her a little energy... breaths are all awkward and staggered.

Well, let's see if I can sleep tonight, and hope she's ok in the morning.

Lost her sometime last night, the poor thing. She looks a lot more peaceful now at least.

Thanks a lot for all your posts
