2 Week Old Baby Chicks On Newspaper?

Some one asked in another thread if keeping chicks on newspaper could cause health problems and noone answered and now I am worried.
They are 2 weeks old and have a box of shavings to sleep in and play in.
Then also have two branches to perch on nut they haven't figured them out yet.

I have the paper inside to take the photo for light reflection ....





The wire hurts the feet in the first couple of weeks but very clean ..






Inside my brooder at two weeks and the bottom is wire ...


I did need to put down new paper several times a day ....

The problem for me id I bought this brooder in 1997 and
it has been well used and getting old but works fine and I
can adjust the heat temp very easley .....
