If you do give them any treats besides their chick feed, I would suggest some free choice chick grit. Some people don't worry about it. If they are outside they will pick up dirt and small stones but they are so much softer than granite grit and wears down quickly. I still provide chick grit to my baby chicks. I have used regular grit and smashed it finer. Sometimes I go to TSC and pick up a bag of Chick Grit. I always have grit available to all of my birds.
As we have the three bigger ones seperated from the four smaller ones due to bullying, I've been trying them both out on certain foods.
So far I've given them chopped up tomato + carrot, and while the little ones didn't seem too interested, the larger chicks loved both!
