I moved my 2 week old RIRs to the new minitractor inside the garage. Went from a heat lamp to a 75W light in one corner.
They love it!
Plenty of room ( 3'x3' run ).
I put 2 inches of pine mulch in there and they were scratching up a storm.
I also placed a 2x2 pine roost for them.
I went out a little ago and 2 of them were on the roost.

The cats sure want to get in that tractor. I already swatted one with a rolled up newspaper for trying to stick his paw through the wire.

I think my little beagle mix is going to " protect " them. I placed her bed beside the minitractor.

I have RIR's also. Mine are 6 years, 7 months and 4 months. How cute, on the roost! Be sure and post some pictures!

The one kitty that started, hasnt come back in the garage since I swatted her!

No kitty is going to get my chicks. i cant wait until they are grown and we will see what happens then.

Adorable! I have 25 coming in the mail on Thursday. You know, my Dad argued with me about putting a roost in my brooder. He said that baby chicks don't need one. I didn't listen, though.

Awww, they are so cute! Do you have a screen or something for the top so they do not fly out? They will be able to do that very soon, if they haven't yet.
Looks very cozy in there for them!
