2 Weeks old and Flying the Coop!

My 2 little ones escaped their brooder for the first time today. I'd been meaning to give them the baby pool, but I don't have any mesh to put around the outside yet. Will it work to jerry rig mesh around the outside of a baby pool? Do I need to worry about the chicks getting wedged between the outside of the pool and the mesh?
