Please help- our dog got access to our new chicks and one of the survivors has an injured leg and I'm hoping to learn how to best treat it.

She is 2 weeks old and has difficulty bearing weight on it. It almost seems as if it collapses beneath her when she tries to use it. She has no visible injuries- punctures, blood, etc. it doesn't appear to have an obvious break or swelling. I've noticed when she tries to stand tall she can almost use it to stabilize herself and then it collapses beneath her. It's difficult to tell where the origin of the injury is- hip? Joint? Muscular? I had her in a seperate box and she managed to get out. Good sign? She seems to be eating a tiny bit and drinking some water. She will even do a fly/run/hop thing when she wants to get away if I get in the cage (traumatized for obvious reasons).

Questions:

Should I try to splint it?
Should I splint it straight or try to replicate the position they stand in?
What about pain? Is there anything you can give a 2 week old chick?
I've seen a post where a woman made a sling out of a sock and did physical therapy with te chick- thoughts?
I don't want to cause more trouble by treating something incorrectly. Especially because she is growing at such a fast rate.

Any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Someone with way more knowledge than I will be along to help you I'm sure. The main question I have is 'how did the dog get to the chick?'

I'm the meantime I've been reading up on how to treat all potential injuries- hip dislocation, slipped tendon and broken bone. I've also taken note of the chicken chair on poultry podiatry. I'm heading home to assess and treat based on these findings. Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

Update- it seems to be a foot problem! I've checked all the joints and her range of motion is the same on both legs. She can't curl te toes on her injured foot. It just stays flat. None of the toes look or feel broken. I've got her in a seperate space. How do you treat an injured foot??
