Out of my 3 brown egg layers, (2 RiRs and 1 Australorp) all just over 2 years old, I had been getting just one soft shelled egg a day for the last couple months. Last week my Australorp died (that’s for another thread) and I haven’t had a brown egg since. So what’s, up with my RiRs? They just quit laying and Idk why. A month ago I gave all 3 Citracel for about 5 days but didn’t notice a change in the soft shell eggs so I stopped giving it to them. (I guess I should have continued for longer than 5 days.) Anyway, one RiR always has runny poop stuck to her hind feathers, but other than that idk what could b the problem. Should I start the Citracel again? Maybe Apple Cider Vinegar in their water? I do add about a1/2 teaspoon or less of bleach to their 5gallon water bucket. Could that b a problem? They have 16% protein IFA feed always at their disposal. Plus they get lots of kitchen scraps. Also, They roam a 50’ x 25’ run during the day so they have plenty of space. Any suggestions would b appreciated.

It may be that they are just taking a normal break in their laying cycle. They are at that age, and it is especially likely if they laid through the winter.
