They are beautiful and the snow makes a beautiful backdrop with the sun shinning, looks refreshing, i love cold weather as long as the wind isn't blowing it up my britches

he had a couple little ones last year also. im hoping he gets a few decent ones this year.
what are my chances for fertile eggs?

Mine get small trains but not one bird has eyes on a train until they are growing the 3 year trains. I do not know why some people's peas get eyes at 1-2 years and mine in CT don't LOL
Same here!

all mine are done growing new trains except the dinky baby trains from the 2013 hatch, the pieds have dinky eye feathers.
Free ranging sure is good for them it seems. Nice eye feather!

Very pretty Kuntry, glad to see ya around again :thumbsup

Thank you.

Glad to be able to pop in. Been busy with my 100 broilers, well 99 (1 got squished by the heat lamp). 3 more weeks til processing and I should be back on track. Pea laying season will be in a couple months. Not sure how I feel about that. :/ I kinda don't want to hatch anything this year. I'm wore out.

Great to see your usual beautiful pics. :love

Zaz and Kuntrygirl just keep rubbing it in LMAO! I think it is the weather up here that does it. My friend has a bunch of hens and lost her breeding male, well his 2 sons she hatched are growing trains like you guys. I think the weather and me having too many adult males in the pen is the reasons LOL. Now my friend did not get any fertile eggs last year cause she didn't have a male but has about 6 adult hens and that could be another factor as to why her gonna be 2 year olds are getting long trains this year. End of this season I am going to put my favortie yearling in a seperate pen to spend the winter with adult hens and see if he grow a long train.
