So my son noticed one of our older hens had a very fat foot. He brought her into me and it doesnt look like bumble. The bottom is dirty from having more surface touching the ground where she walks but it doesnt seem to have a scab or sore on it anywhere. There is just a lot of edema and swelling everything is soft and squishy.
I really have no clue what it could be other than arthritis?

He says she is walking fine but she complains a little when I squeeze it.

Some possibilities are mycoplasma synoviae or MS, a respiratory disease that affect the joints, gout, and a bacterial or viral arthritis. Does either of her leg joints look red or swollen? Tylan 50 injectable, Tylan powder for water, chlortetracycline are commonly used to treat symptoms of MS. Here is some reading about the different diseases:

Thank you! No nothing else is swollen- Im leaning towards mycoplasma synoviae. Should I treat the whole flock?
