20 Buttons and a Power Outage--

I also have another one coming along with it...it's called "The Chinese Painted Quail, Button Quail: Their Breeding and Care"- I'm not sure how many pages it is, but it looks good. It A Closer Look At "Button Quail" is pretty big at 252 pages! That should keep me busy. You should snag a copy, too.

Great choice on buying the book! Jodi (the author) is one of my best friends! It's very tough to lose birds. I lost a hen last week. She was sitting on a clutch of eggs stiff! Poor little cinnamon in B1 (cage number). I have a few auctions up for eggs, a blue face pair and a golden pearl pair. There will be more auctions with beautiful tux males and some other males.... I have a silver splash hen probably going for auction too...trying to get cages ready for new pairs.

I will check your auctions from time to time, quailladyoffortmyers. I am still getting adjusted with who I have, but I know the auctions will tempt me. I want to get some tuxes, too. I need to build
and create more room first!

Well, I have to finish setting up my 65 gallon tank that decided to dribble water all over at 4 AM while I was watching The Simpsons... the poor oscars are waiting patiently for the sealant to dry. Crossing my finger that I did it right!

If anyone has pics of their buttons please share!!
I'll get mine up here soon.

Thanks, I found the names Buttons and Bunny on the internet before I ever had button quail and I decided then and there that If I ever got button quail I'd name them that.

She was a Golden Pearl I think ( Wild Type )

Those are my favorites. Their spotty colors are so pretty...

My dang camera battery died tonight while I was trying to get pictures so I gotta grab some new ones. So give me a bit on that! *sigh*

I hope to grab some batteries for my camera tonight -- I want to show some new pics!

I was wondering by the way...do you guys eat your quail eggs?? Lol, I do!
They are tiny, but are great on sandwiches and stuff.

Still waiting on those books....as patiently as I'm able, lol

The other book...I am not in charge of that lol...do be aware about the name usage in that one .

I've made deviled eggs from coturnix eggs before, they were a big hit at the IN chickenstock 2009

I'm allergic to eggs (I know, it's ironic

), but my son eats them once in a while. Of course the only kind of eggs he likes are scrambled, and it takes a lot of time to make scrambled quail eggs!

My favorite colors in the buttons are the blue face, silvers, and the ones that some people call Darth Vaders. I like the hens of that color, white with black spots
