20 Buttons and a Power Outage--

The best way to describe them...I'd say they're like tiny chickens. The males crow and even battle like roosters. The females lay an egg a day. I eat the eggs...there are just so many I'd figure it a waste not to

-- and they are good! At least I think so anyhow. My friend boiled some...took about 4 minutes, lol! As far as eating the quails themselves...maybe a small gnome could. I suppose you could gather up a dozen or so and have some McNuggets maybe.

They are meant for pets really. They are easy to raise and very interesting...but you have the be careful to keep their cage tops soft or very low in case they get spooked and boink their heads. That is the only real downside that I know of to keeping them. Mine are used to quite a bit of commotion, however. I vacuum around them and rattle the feed bags...and hold them when I can after feeding time. They sit and watch me mostly...and they are learning about the lettuce bags I've noticed.
