20 days and 12 pages ago--- I set all those eggs... *pics*

There are so many chicks in the hatchers it's plumb scary.
I see I lost 2 because an empty shell slipped over pipped but not hatched eggs and suffocated them --- HAD to go in that hatcher and clean out some shells.

Spent the day today moving 50-ish chicks from the spare room to a new 'outside brooder', cleaning and rearranging the inside brooders (still have 25-ish chicks and 7 ducklings inside).
I think I can make room for all the new hatchlings

PLUS, I got to meet another BYC'er, Theressa(Chickhamm), when she and her sons came to pick up some Silkie hatching eggs!

28, 17, and 46 = 91 new hatchlings in the brooders.
*insert maniacal laughter* They're not done yet. Three wet chicks and a few more pipped still in the hatchers.

The bator w/ fan and turner had the best results.
The other 2, still-air and hand turned, not quite as good, but not shabby.
I'll get some individual pics as soon as I get the outside chores done.

Has anybody used nail polish on a toe to mark chicks?
I need to think of something quick

I've thought about using nail polish as a marker, but was afraid it would be an invitation to peck at each other.

p.s. Congrats on a great hatch!!
